Railware Inc. filed a federal lawsuit accusing Caltrain, the San Francisco Bay Area’s commuter rail system, of infringing patented technology designed to keep trains from entering active work zones without authorization from on-scene track workers.
Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, doing business as Caltrain, uses certain products incorporating the technology behind Railware’s Dispatch X system without permission, infringing US Patent Nos. 9,517,782, RE47,835, and RE49,115, according to the New York-based company’s complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
