Three Railware Inc. patents related to a rail traffic-control system intended to reduce on-track accidents remain valid after an administrative tribunal declined to take up challenges from Amtrak.
The National Railroad Passenger Corp., doing business as Amtrak, didn’t sufficiently demonstrate a reference number discussed in earlier US Transportation Department reports corresponded to the “release code,” “secret code,” and “removal code” in Railware’s US Patent Nos. 9,517,782, RE47835, and RE49115, according to Patent Trial and Appeal Board decisions issued Monday.
