Allianz Hit With Coverage Suit Over Adidas Trademark Case

An athleisure apparel brand is suing an Allianz SE unit seeking insurance coverage for a trademark infringement suit brought by Adidas AG over its three-stripe mark.

Allianz Global Risks US Insurance Co. has a duty to defend against the underlying suit through its commercial general liability policies, Aviator Nation Inc. said in a complaint filed Oct. 31 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.

Aviator Nation and Adidas have been in conflict over alleged infringement for more than a decade and previously signed settlement agreements in an effort to resolve their dispute, according to the complaint. ...
