Judge Albright Says Will Act ‘Promptly’ on Patent Transfer Bids

U.S. District Judge Alan Albright will act on parties’ motions to transfer patent infringement cases out of his popular Western District of Texas court before moving on with the meat of the case under a new standing order.

Albright has taken heat from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on several occasions recently for dragging his feet on transfer motions. In February, the appeals court said his failure to act on a motion filed by defendant SK hynix Inc. “amounted to egregious delay and blatant disregard for precedent.”
