5 Seconds of Summer, Hungarian Musicians End Copyright Fight

Hungarian musicians have ended their lawsuit accusing the pop band 5 Seconds of Summer of lifting parts of their music for the band’s hit song, “Youngblood.”

Judge Dean Pregerson in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California closed the case Thursday after the two sides agreed to a dismissal.

Musicians David Henderson, David Toth, and Peter Ferencz filed the lawsuit in July 2019. The trio said “Youngblood” uses melodic phrases that are virtually identical to their song, “White Shadows,” which was performed in a Hungarian song competition.
