W.R. Berkley Unit Looks to Appeal Murdaugh Settlement Ruling

A W.R. Berkley Corp. insurance unit is seeking to appeal a federal district court’s June ruling upholding a $3.8 million settlement the insurer paid that was intended for the family of Alex Murdaugh’s deceased housekeeper but mostly stolen by Murdaugh.

Nautilus Insurance Co. filed a motion for leave to appeal in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina on Sept. 27, asking the court to amend its prior orders to certify them for immediate appeal.
