Travelers Cos. units are off the hook for a summer camp software company’s costs in a proposed class action brought under Illinois’ landmark biometric privacy law over the use of facial recognition software for tagging individual campers in online photo galleries.

An exclusion for claims arising out of the “access or disclosure of confidential or personal information” precludes coverage, the US District Court for the Southern District of Illinois said in a Tuesday order.
