NY Archdiocese Denies Chubb’s Claims on Ties to Survivors Group

The Archdiocese of New York in a new court filing said it never funded, established, or controlled a sexual abuse survivors’ advocacy group that has publicly railed against the church’s insurer Chubb Ltd., rejecting the carrier’s allegation that the organization is “ADNY in sheep’s clothing.”

But the church did receive updates on a communications plan for the Coalition for Just and Compassionate Compensation printed on letterhead for the group’s external public relations firm SKDK, the church’s former chief financial officer said in an affirmation submitted with the filing Thursday in the New York Supreme Court, New York County.
