Hartford, Chubb End Social Media Coverage Dispute With Discord

Units of Hartford Insurance Group Inc. and Chubb Ltd. are dropping their claims against Discord Inc. for now over claims the company failed to protect young people on its online messaging platform.

The parties filed a joint stipulation of voluntary dismissal without prejudice in the Delaware Superior Court Tuesday pursuant to a standstill agreement.

  • Hartford Fire Insurance Co. and Sentinel Insurance Co. sued Discord in April, seeking declaratory judgment on their obligations to cover the underlying litigation. Two Chubb units brought a third-party complaint against Discord in May.
