Chubb’s Opioid Coverage Suit Against Grocer Paused in Virginia

A federal judge in Virginia granted a supermarket chain’s request to pause an insurance coverage suit brought by Chubb Ltd. units to allow an Indiana state court to resolve the dispute in a parallel action.

Judge Elizabeth K. Dillon of the US District Court for the Western District of Virginia granted Food City Supermarket LLC and K-VA-T Food Stores Inc.'s motion to stay in a Tuesday hearing. The judge denied the grocer’s motion to dismiss the case.
