Albertsons Legal Head Sees Pay Bump Amid Kroger Deal Fallout

Albertsons Cos. Inc.‘s top legal officer, Thomas Moriarty, earned about $6.4 million in total compensation last year as the grocery chain navigated the fallout of a shuttered merger with Kroger Co.

Moriarty’s pay package rose about 34% in fiscal year 2024, which ended Feb. 22, according to the company’s proxy statement. He received slightly more than $4.7 million in fiscal year 2023.

His 2024 compensation included a base salary of $900,000 and $3.5 million in stock awards, a figure based on the closing price of Albertsons common stock in April 2024, according to the proxy.
