Albertsons Law Head Gets Nearly $5 Million Amid Merger Drama (1)

Albertsons Cos. Inc., facing legal and regulatory opposition to its proposed $24.6 billion sale to Kroger Co., gave its new law and policy head Thomas Moriarty a pay package valued at more than $4.7 million in fiscal 2023.

The Boise, Idaho-based company disclosed in a proxy statement filed June 21 that Moriarty earned roughly $1.2 million in cash and nearly $3.5 million in stock awards after coming aboard at Albertsons almost a year ago to succeed Juliette Pryor. Moriarty’s base salary at Albertsons is $900,000 per year.
