Penn, Roche End Patent Suit Over Cancer Drugs Worth Billions

The University of Pennsylvania and Roche Holding AG’s Genentech Inc. settled a lawsuit that accused four of the Swiss drugmaker’s cancer treatments of infringing a since-expired patent.

The dismissal doesn’t allow either party to renew its allegations, according to the stipulation and order Judge Jennifer L. Hall approved Friday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Hall earlier this week had paused the case while the parties finalized the deal. A jury trial had been set to begin March 31.
