Penn, Roche’s Genentech Near Settlement on Cancer-Drug Patents

A federal judge in Delaware paused the University of Pennsylvania’s lawsuit against Roche Holding AG’s Genentech accusing four cancer treatments of infringing a since-expired patent while the parties work to finalize a deal that would end the dispute.

Judge Jennifer L. Hall granted a request by Penn and Genentech Inc. “to stay this action pending performance of certain obligations under the settlement agreement reached by the parties,” according to an order issued Monday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
