Chemours, Army Dismiss World War II Chemical Clean-Up Lawsuit

The Chemours Co. and the US government agreed to end litigation over the cost of cleaning up a Minnesota factory site where the Army produced millions of pounds of chemicals during World War II.

The US Court of Federal Claims dismissed the case with prejudice Wednesday nearly a month after the parties reported reaching a settlement agreement. Chemours, a spinoff from DowDupont Inc., sued the government in 2018 for breach of contract to get reimbursed for environmental cleanup at the site after the Army allegedly denied its claims.
