Precision Lens to Pay US $12 Million in Kickback Settlement (1)

Precision Lens and the estate of its former principal, Paul Ehlen, agreed to pay the US government $12 million to resolve a False Claims Act suit alleging kickback payments to ophthalmic surgeons.

A US Attorney’s Office said Thursday that the parties reached this agreement after the government conducted a review of the defendants’ financial position and ability to satisfy a nearly $217 million judgment in a Feb. 8 order issued by the US District Court for the District of Minnesota.
