A federal court issued a preliminary injunction in Maryland’s suit to stop the Trump administration from developing an immigration detention center in the town of Williamsport.
The administration is enjoined from construction and renovation at the Williamsport warehouse during the parties’ litigation, Judge Brendan A. Hurson of the US District Court for the District of Maryland said in a Wednesday order. Hurson granted the state a temporary restraining order on March 11.
The government can make improvements “narrowly tailored” to prevent vandalism or arson, such as installing security cameras and making HVAC repairs, Hurson said..
