Youth Plaintiffs Appeal Dismissal of Trump Energy Orders Lawsuit

Youth plaintiffs challenging Trump administration energy orders want a second chance to argue their climate right-to-life lawsuit that was “reluctantly” dismissed by a Montana judge, according to an appeal filed Monday.

Plaintiffs in Lighthiser v. Trump filed a notice indicating their plans to appeal at the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, following the case’s dismissal Oct. 15.

Judge Dana L. Christensen of the US District Court for the District of Montana acknowledged “overwhelming evidence” that the federal government was engaging in climate-damaging policies, but it was not in his power to grant relief through a court ruling. ...
