The City of Quincy, Wash., agreed to update its industrial wastewater treatment plant as part of a settlement with an environmental group.
The municipality agreed to repair or replace several systems to meet federal effluent limits for pollutants like ammonia, free chlorine, and dissolved oxygen, according to a proposed consent decree filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
- The city will also donate $400,000 to the Confederated Tribes and Bands of Yakama Nation for “projects benefiting water quality and/or aquatic habitat in the Columbia River Basin,” as part of the settlement
