The American Chemistry Council and the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers wrote President Donald Trump for broad exemptions that would relieve facilities from complying with air toxics limits.
The trade associations sent the letter according to instructions for a “presidential exemption” from National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, which allowed sources to write to the president directly for a reprieve from the regulations.
