Clean air advocates filed a Freedom of Information Act request on Thursday for records related to a new EPA website that advertises a “Presidential Exemption” to certain emissions rules.
The Environmental Defense Fund wants all documents that tie back to an online portal rolled out by the Trump administration this week that allows emission sources to email the president for a special exemption from mercury and other hazardous air pollutant regulations under Section 112 of the Clean Air Act, which governs air toxics.
