Supreme Court Asked to Block Power Plant Rule, DOJ to Respond

The Department of Justice has three weeks to respond after interest groups asked the US Supreme Court to block federal power plant greenhouse gas emission standards.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. set an Aug. 19 deadline for the DOJ to address requests for an immediate stay of an EPA rule that would force coal plants to capture nearly all of their carbon dioxide emissions by 2039.
