Senate Confirms James Danly for Deputy Energy Secretary Role

The Senate on Tuesday voted 52-44 to confirm James Danly to be second in command at the Energy Department.

A former chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Danly is no stranger to the nomination process or the issues associated with regulating the use of the country’s energy resources.

He served on the commission from 2020 to 2023 and was known for clashing with his Democratic colleagues over fossil fuels.
