Rhode Island Wind Farm Beats Second Bid to Stop Construction

Conservation groups lost another attempt to delay the construction of the federally-approved Revolution Wind LLC wind project after a federal judge found they lack standing.

The groups failed to show a concrete or individualized injury stemming from the wind project, Judge Royce C. Lamberth said Monday.

Green Oceans, the Responsible Offshore Development Alliance, and others claimed the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management unlawfully approved the project in 2023. The environmental analysis the agency based its approval on—which concluded the project wouldn’t jeopardize any endangered species—didn’t take a hard look at effects on wildlife or commercial fisheries, they said.
