Kirkland Defends Invitae Representation Amid Conflict Claims

Kirkland & Ellis LLP said it doesn’t have a conflict of interest that would prevent it from representing genetic testing company Invitae Corp. in the company’s Chapter 11 case—pushing back against objections from the US Trustee and creditors.

Kirkland on Thursday responded to the objections from the US Justice Department and a committee of Invitae’s junior creditors to Kirkland’s application to represent Invitae in bankruptcy proceedings.
