Judge’s Extension Preserves Green Bank Grants as Hearing Nears

The Trump administration can’t terminate green banks’ climate grants for at least another week as a judge prepares to rule on the EPA’s efforts to claw back $20 billion in clean energy funds.

The US District Court for the District of Columbia is extending its March 18 temporary restraining order preserving Biden-era climate grants for clean energy lending by seven days through April 8, according to an order filed Monday. The Environmental Protection Agency is attempting to terminate the funds, which were authorized under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.
