The EPA said it’s resumed posting data online about new types of problems potentially caused by commercial chemicals, less than a month after an advocacy group sued for the information.
Substantial risk notices for hundreds of chemicals are now available through the ChemView database, the Environmental Protection Agency announced Thursday. The agency had halted posting the data online in 2019 after the employee responsible for updating the database retired.
Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility filed a lawsuit in January, alleging that the EPA failed to provide documents pertaining to the chemical risk reports under the Freedom of Information Act.
