EPA Names Temporary Department Heads Ahead of Trump Transition

Longtime EPA official Kimberly Patrick will become the agency’s administrator effective Jan. 20 at noon and continuing through the transition period, according to a Friday internal EPA email reviewed by Bloomberg Law.

Patrick now serves as the Environmental Protection Agency’s principal deputy assistant administrator for mission support. President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee, Lee Zeldin, held his Senate nomination hearing on Thursday and is expected to ultimately be confirmed.

Patrick’s deputy will be Gregg Treml, now the deputy chief financial officer. Trump has named David Fotouhi for that role.
