EBay Argues It’s Not Responsible for Allegedly Unlawful Products

EBay Inc. urged a federal court to dismiss the government’s case claiming the e-commerce company sold multiple products that violate environmental and consumer safety laws.

The company doesn’t sell or distribute items on its platform and has never offered to sell unlawful items, eBay told the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

The Environmental Protection Agency sued the global online marketplace in September, claiming the company unlawfully sold harmful chemicals, pesticides, and high-emission car parts.
