Delta Air Lines succeeded in getting dismissed some claims from customers regarding how the company has promoted its allegedly carbon-neutral practices.
The claims brought under California’s False Advertising Law and Unfair Competition Law were “inadequately pleaded,” Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong of the US District Court for the Central District of California said.
A California resident, Mayanna Berrin, sued Delta in May for allegedly misrepresenting itself as a carbon-neutral airline, resulting in customers purchasing flights thinking they were contributing to a positive environmental impact.
