Westlake Corp. asked a federal court to dismiss a case from a proposed class of Louisiana residents that alleged groundwater contamination from the chemical company’s operations at the Sulphur Mines Salt Dome.
The complaint lacks details to support the plaintiffs’ claims—they haven’t mentioned any contamination testing of their properties or specified any spills of potentially harmful chemicals, Westlake and its subsidiaries told the US District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on Dec. 8.
