Oil and gas pipelines have been built since the late 1800s and are one of America’s most ubiquitous forms of infrastructure. However, in recent years, a coalition of land rights activists, tribes, and environmental groups have made pipelines a target of protest and litigation.

In this video, featuring University of Minnesota environmental law professor Alexandra Klass and Bloomberg Law’s Ellen M. Gilmer, we look at the series of high profile legal setbacks that has some in the industry asking—is it still possible to build pipelines in America?
