X Rebuffs Musk Deposition as Harassment in Twitter Layoffs Case

A former Twitter Inc. worker’s attempt to make Elon Musk sit for a deposition is “nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to harass” the billionaire, the company told a federal court.

The ex-employee urged the US District Court for the Northern District of California to make Musk sit for a seven-hour deposition. But Musk, who purchased the social media platform in 2022 and renamed it to X, doesn’t possess unique knowledge relevant to the worker’s job-loss claims, and the worker hasn’t exhausted less intrusive discovery methods, X said in a Thursday letter brief.
