Werner, Truckers Reach Deal to End Wage Case on Eve of Trial

Werner Enterprises Inc. and truck drivers alleging wage violations have settled their decade-old dispute, the parties told a federal judge one day before they were set to face off in the courtroom.

The transportation company last week mostly failed to block the availability of some damages at the trial scheduled to start Tuesday. Werner and the workers then reached a deal to resolve the allegations, according to a notice they filed Monday with the US District Court for the District of Nebraska, promising to provide additional details of the settlement when they appeared in court.
