Virginia Finalizes Equal Rights Amendment Ratification (1)

Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring (D) says he will take action to ensure the Equal Rights Amendment ultimately is adopted as part of the U.S. Constitution after state lawmakers finalized ratification.

Both the state House of Delegates and the Senate approved ratification on Jan. 15, and lawmakers made it official Monday. But further action by Congress or the courts is needed before the matter is settled.
