VA Isn’t Bargaining in Good Faith Over Worker Issues, Union Says

The Department of Veterans Affairs is refusing to negotiate in good faith with its largest employee union over worker leave and other job-safety issues, and is instead seeking to impose a one-sided labor contract, the union alleged in an ongoing labor dispute.

The department, among other things, isn’t engaging with the union on proposals to ensure that disabled military veterans who work at the VA can get leave without pay as needed for medical treatments involving alternative therapies, the American Federation of Government Employees’ National VA Council said in a Sunday filing to the Federal Service Impasses Panel.
