Colorado’s law mandating that Uber Technologies Inc. tell drivers and riders how much of each fare the company keeps can take effect, after a federal judge denied Uber’s request to block it.

The US District Court for the District of Colorado’s Friday ruling comes after Uber sought a temporary restraining order arguing the law scheduled to take effect Feb.1 would violate its First Amendment rights by compelling speech.

Colorado lawmakers passed the measure (SB 24-075) last year, along with related legislation (HB 24-1129) imposing similar requirements on app-based delivery companies such as DoorDash Inc. and Instacart. ...
