Two of Three Federal Worker Appeal Board Picks OK’d by Panel (1)

A Senate panel Feb. 13 approved two of President Donald Trump’s three picks for the board that hears federal worker appeals of personnel actions, setting the stage for action by the full Senate.

The Merit Systems Protection Board nominees, if confirmed, would face a backlog of at least 1,972 appeals, according to numbers posted on the board’s website as of Jan. 31. The number of backlogged appeals is likely to climb above 2,000 by the time the new board members are in place.
