President Donald Trump nominated Carter Crow of law firm Norton Rose Fulbright to serve as general counsel of the EEOC.

If confirmed by the US Senate, Crow would serve a four-year term as the top litigator at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, helping the Republican-controlled agency to push forward cases that align with the Trump administration’s goals.

Crow is a Texas-based attorney and global head of employment and labor at Norton Rose where he defends employers in litigation.

He would replace the Biden administration pick for EEOC general counsel, Karla Gilbride, who was fired from her role in January by President Donald Trump. He’ll oversee litigation at the agency during a time of shifting focus, as its chair, Andrea Lucas, seeks to target issues like religious discrimination and unwinding diversity programs the commission deems illegal.

Crow has worked on a range of labor and employment law matters, mostly involving wage and hour and the Fair Labor Standards Act, according to Bloomberg Law analytics. He has also been involved in employment discrimination cases.

Crow was the former partner-in-charge of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Houston office and the former president of the Houston Bar Association, according to his law firm profile.

The EEOC declined to comment on the president’s nomination.
