TJX Store Managers’ $31.5 Million OT Deal Given Final Approval

TJX Cos.’ $31.5 million settlement with nearly 2,000 HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls assistant managers who alleged TJX violated their rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York overtime laws was given final approval by a Boston federal court Tuesday.

The settlement is the second-largest of its kind in a First Circuit court, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts order found it fair, reasonable, and adequate. The court gave preliminary approval for the settlement in July.

The Tuesday order also said the class’ attorneys will receive $10.5 million, one-third of the total award.
