HomeGoods, Marshalls Managers Get $31.5 Million OT Deal Approved

A $31.5 million settlement between TJX Cos. Inc. and nearly 2,000 HomeGoods, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx assistant managers who alleged Fair Labor Standards Act and New York overtime violations won federal court approval Monday.

The deal is the second-largest of its kind within the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, in terms of total dollars. The plaintiffs have estimated that each eligible participant will receive an average payment of about $10,200. Class counsel plans to request up to 33.5% of the total amount in attorneys’ fees and costs.
