Tata Consultancy Manager Advances Age, National Origin Bias Case

A former Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. manager can pursue claims that the company favored younger workers of Southeast Asian descent over older, White workers from the US, a federal judge said.

There’s no need to toss or pause the worker’s individual case while an earlier proposed class action involving similar bias claims moves forward, the US District Court for the District of New Jersey said. The Monday opinion also declined to dismiss the portion of the suit alleging the India-based IT services company discriminated against the worker because of his US citizenship.
