A group of Steak ‘n Shake managers who claimed to be owed overtime wages got some extra money tacked onto their $3.03 million jury verdict.
The class of 286 managers took the burger chain to trial in February and won. A jury awarded the 275 Missouri managers $2.88 million for violations of the state’s minimum wage laws. The 11-member Fair Labor Standards Act class netted just under $155,000.
Judge John Ross granted the managers’ motion to amend the judgment by doubling the verdict for each class. Violations of the Missouri wage law require a mandatory award, Ross said. And the ...
