Steak N Shake, Managers Go to Trial in Overtime Case

Steak N Shake and a class of 286 current and former managers will have to resolve at trial whether the managers are barred from collecting overtime pay under federal and Missouri law.

A jury could believe the class’s contention that Steak N. Shake managers spend most of their time preparing and serving food and that their work is strictly controlled by company policy, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri said Dec. 10.
