The Senate labor committee has scheduled a May 12 vote on the nominations of Jennifer Abruzzo, for National Labor Relations Board general counsel; Seema Nanda, for U.S. Labor Department solicitor; and Jocelyn Samuels, for a new term on the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Abruzzo and Nanda would serve as the government’s two most powerful workplace attorneys, if confirmed. Samuels, a Democrat, already serves on the EEOC, after being confirmed last year. She has been nominated for a new, five-year term.
