Senate Confirms Cheryl Stanton to Head Wage-Hour Division

The Senate April 10 confirmed Cheryl Stanton to head the Labor Department’s division tasked with enforcing federal wage laws.

The chamber voted 53-45 to confirm Stanton to lead the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division. Stanton, the former head of the South Carolina state employment agency, has been waiting to be confirmed by the Senate since President Donald Trump nominated her in September 2017. Stanton is among a handful of DOL nominees awaiting Senate confirmation.
