Employers no longer will be required to post advertisements for seasonal jobs in print newspapers before hiring H-2B guestworkers, under a new regulation released Nov. 14 by the departments of Labor and Homeland Security.
Instead, employers wishing to participate in the temporary visa program will submit their information to the DOL for posting on the agency’s SeasonalJobs.dol.gov website. The new requirement in the final rule is a change from the proposal released a year ago, which would have made employers themselves post electronic job ads.
