A Washington-area construction contractor has settled Labor Department allegations of discrimination, according to a document approving the settlement.
An order approving the settlement from Administrative Law Judge Lauren Boucher on Tuesday said the agreement with Potomac Abatement Inc. “provides for substantial monetary and non-monetary relief, and it represents a negotiated settlement acceptable to both parties.” Details of the settlement weren’t immediately available.
The DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs sued the contractor in 2016, alleging that Hispanic employees were assigned to lower-paying jobs compared with their Black colleagues, and harassed because of their race and national origin.
