NLRB Cites Conflict in Axing George Washington University Ruling

The National Labor Relations Board vacated a 2021 decision concerning alleged labor law violations at George Washington University Hospital because the ruling involved William Emanuel, a former board member who broke ethics rules.

The split three-member panel on Tuesday scrapped the April 2021 ruling, in which the board signed off on the hospital’s conduct during labor contract negotiations with the union that had represented support staff for more than 20 years. The negotiations culminated in the ousting of the Service Employees International Union affiliate.
