Nurses who say the hospital chain they worked for underpaid them for on-call work may move forward with an $800,000 settlement resolving their wage-and-hour suit after a federal judge in Nebraska granted initial approval.
The deal resolves the workers’ Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage law allegations against CHI Nebraska, parent CommonSpirit Health, and a subsidiary. The settlement covers an FLSA collective, a class, and two subclasses, the US District Court for the District of Nebraska said.
